Charlotte Youth Ballet has been dedicated to community outreach since its inception over 40 years ago. Our current outreach includes both public and private performances of selected works by our dancers, as well as providing tickets for Title I schools to see our special school/preview shows. We offer children the opportunity to witness the art of storytelling through dance, set to classical music.

To further support our community outreach, CYB created the Pointe Shoe Project. Using old, used pointe shoes, artists, both professional and amateur, decorate, paint, and create works of art. These works of art are then sold during our performances and the contributing artists receive recognition in our playbills, which are available to audiences at each performance.

Artists will be provided with as many pointe shoes as they request and creativity is encouraged! Pinterest can provide many ideas.
