Why Preserve the Legacy?

Charlotte Youth Ballet (CYB) enjoys a rich tradition of enhancing the cultural life of the Charlotte community by being the only youth-based performing ballet company in the region. Since 1981, CYB has proudly produced professional-quality Nutcracker and other storybook ballets that merge a principal cast of professional international dancers and local students.

Our productions are designed to be accessible and affordable to a diverse audience with the goal of (a) expanding access to this centuries-old art form and (b) fostering a lifelong appreciation for ballet.

Your support will:

• Offset our production costs, including artistic, technical, administrative, theater costs, costume and set storage, etc.
• Replace and improve aging costumes and sets.

• Support our outreach program that brings CMS Title I schools to see our School Preview Shows.
• Scholarships for company members, so all dancers can participate, regardless of ability to pay.
• Special events for Girl Scouts.
